Under the Sink publishes general information about household product safety: labels, storage, disposal and the official contacts that exist for emergencies. It is not medical, legal or professional advice, and it does not replace the instructions on a product's label, the maker's directions or the advice of a poison center, doctor, vet or emergency service.

In an emergency, or if someone may have been exposed to a product, call your local emergency number or a poison center now. Do not rely on this website.

Rules and recommendations differ between countries and change over time. We check facts against official sources when we publish and correct mistakes we find, but we cannot promise that every page is complete or current for your situation. Always read the label of the product in front of you.

Partner boxes

Some pages include marked partner boxes that link through an affiliate network. A box describes a type of product and names a company that sells it; it is not an endorsement of a specific model for your home. Purchases are between you and the seller.
